The UW Health Carbone Cancer Center is recognized throughout the Midwest and the nation as one of the leading innovators in cancer research, quality patient care and active community involvement. Carbone Cancer Center is one of the original comprehensive cancer centers in the country as designated by the National Cancer Institute and is the only one in Wisconsin.
The UW Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy (formerly named Blood and Marrow Transplant) Program is accredited by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and was among the first transplant centers worldwide to achieve this accreditation in 2001. FACT accreditation ensures patients, medical professionals, health insurance companies and the government that our program exceeds standards in patient care and laboratory practices.
Our program has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1981 and is consistently awarded Center of Excellence designation by major transplant networks based on our facilities, performance, and patient outcomes. We have been rated as a high-performing transplant center in unrelated donor transplantation by the NMDP.
We are a multidisciplinary team of transplant professionals, working together toward the goal of providing the best possible outcomes for our patients through evidence-based, innovative, compassionate care, supportive services, and clinical trials.
