University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center

University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center was one of the first hospitals to offer bone marrow transplants in 1976 and has offered advanced bone marrow and cord blood transplant services for more than 45 years.  UH Seidman Cancer Center has a 30-bed inpatient unit specializing in the treatment of hematologic malignancies, and over 3,500 patients have received stem cell transplants.   

UH Seidman Cancer Center has been doing cellular therapy clinical trials for over 25 years and conducts clinical trials using novel cellular therapies manufactured on-site in the Wesley Center for Immunotherapy.  This includes CAR T-cell, NK cell and other cellular based therapies.  CAR T-cell therapy patients have an 80% overall response in complete and partial remission.  Discoveries and research from these clinical trials have been published in prestigious journals including Nature Communication, and have helped to create FDA-approved CAR T-cell therapy products for patients.      

UH Seidman Cancer Center is one of the best cancer hospitals in the country according to U.S. News & World Report for over 20 years.  UH Seidman Cancer Center is part of the NCI-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of 56 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country.  The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center has an “Exceptional” rating from the NCI, a distinction currently held by only seven NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers.
