Instead of attending a meeting at a hotel or other event space, a virtual symposium allows you to attend the symposium and learn from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a computer or other electronic device that connects to the internet and you’re ready to go!
You will not need to download any new programs or apps on your electronic device in order to view the presentations. The link you receive by email after you register is all you will need to participate.
The first step is to get registered. Use the Register button on the left-side of this page.
After you complete the registration form you will receive an email with a link to participate in the live presentations or view presentations that have already occurred and were recorded for you.
Yes. We’re asking you to select workshops in advance so that we know how many participants to expect. However, you are welcome to attend workshops other than those you registered for if you change your mind.
For each session, there will be a “chat box” on your screen that you can use to send questions to the speakers. Feel free to submit as many questions as you’d like. The speakers will answer as many questions as possible.
No. You will be watching and listening to the presentation on your computer or other electronic device. You will not be able to see others who are listening to the workshop, nor will they be able to see you.
If you would like to meet others attending the symposium, go to Meet Others Attending the 2023 Survivorship Symposium to see some photos and stories submitted by attendees. You can also join a closed BMT InfoNet Facebook group to meet other survivors attending the symposium.
Yes. For most presentations, the speakers will invite you to download a copy of the slides they are using for their presentation. There will be a tab on each presentation that allows you to do so on the day of the live presentation.
